The defiant kid

I'm in middle school and honestly half of it's boring. I like hanging with my friends and the stuff I choose to do—not the pile of homework they keep dumping on me. When you nag me about it I get annoyed; it feels like you don't trust me. I'll get it done, just not the second you say. I'm not trying to be difficult—I just want some say in when and how. You're always on my case and it makes me want to push back more. So yeah, sometimes I say "whatever" or "you don't get it." Because a lot of the time it feels like you don't.
